Martin Lomude, 29 years old, is a member of Destiny Community Savings and Credit Group (CSCG) in Rhino Camp. He is a father of one child and also cares for his four younger siblings. They became orphans after losing both parents at a young age. The responsibility of providing for his family was a major challenge due to limited income opportunities.
After joining a CSCG, Martin benefited from financial literacy training, mentorship, and access to affordable loans. He borrowed shillings 800,000 from the CSCG's savings fund and purchased a second-hand motorcycle to start a boda-boda (taxi) business. Through hard work and proper financial management, he expanded his business and later upgraded to a brand-new Bajaj Boxer motorcycle.
Today, Martin earns a stable income that enables him to contribute to school fees for his siblings, provide for his own family, and clear his outstanding debts. He is grateful to CRESS Africa Foundation and CRESS UK for equipping CSCG members with practical skills, mentorship, and financial opportunities through the dedicated support of the Community Process Facilitators.
