Asara Donald:
"Working with CRESS Africa Foundation as the Lead Community Process Facilitator in Imvepi Refugee Settlement has been a deeply rewarding journey of service and leadership. Through community engagement, dialogue facilitation, and support to refugee and host communities, I help empower people to participate in shaping their own future. Witnessing the resilience of families who had endured immense hardship strengthened my commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence, local ownership, and sustainable development. Seeing women establish savings groups, youth engage in livelihood activities, and communities resolve conflicts together affirmed my belief that lasting change begins with empowered communities.
Beyond my professional responsibilities, my experience at CRESS Africa Foundation transformed me personally by strengthening my leadership skills, compassion, and confidence while improving the well-being of my family. The appreciation expressed by community members, particularly an elderly refugee who thanked me for listening to their voices, remains one of my greatest sources of inspiration. Looking back with gratitude, I value the partnerships built with colleagues and stakeholders and remain committed to serving others with integrity, humility, and excellence, believing that true leadership is reflected in the positive impact made in people's lives."
