Agnes’s Story
Jenny Truluck, a long-time supporter of CRESS and brilliant cook, asked if she could sell her own homemade marmalade at Wellspring – the group that meets on a Tuesday morning in Broadchalke. Caroline said yes, thinking around £30 would be made. Not so! On the first round of the marmalade sale £150 was made, enough for one and a half bicycles!
Andrea then challenged the group to give £1 each to make the figure up to
£200 which would be enough for 2 bicycles.
Amazingly, enough was then given to fund four and a half bikes and the money kept coming in.
Some funds were added from the trip report evening, with more
donations given and yet more marmalade sold there too.
So the total funds raised, sparked by a marmalade sale, has led
to 27 new bicycles being distributed.
- Imvepi Clergy: 6 bicycles were provided under the leadership of Rev. Jacob Karaba
- Bidi-bidi Clergy: 6 bicycles were distributed under the leadership of Bishop Data
- Rhino/Imvepi/Bidi-Bidi Lead Volunteer Children workers: 5 bicycles yet to be distributed, scheduled for after Super Seminar Training
- Mijale/Gobor/Belemeling/Morobi/Arua CATT Counsellors: 6 bicycles were provided under the leadership of the CATT Coordinator.
- Mijale/Imvepi CPFs*: 4 bicycles were distributed for community
Process Facilitators under the leadership of Mr. Achile Moses
