The changing priorities of CRESS
Yesterday I went with Fred Tabban to the NewWine Week at Shepton Mallet and had the most extraordinary “co–incidental“ meeting.
A chance meeting
We arrived as the worship in the main arena was about to start and because walking is difficult for Fred I suggested we went into the arena and that he waited there while I went to get the tickets.
There are six doors to the arena and it holds around 5000 people I think – it was packed and virtually full. We walked in a door I don’t normally use and found Fred a chair in the café bit near that entrance. I then left him to go and buy the tickets
Whilst I was getting them Jonathan Triffitt, who has been out to Kajo Keji twice with me for some reason decided he needed the lavatory, he says he never does that normally but on Thursday did. As he walked out absolutely to his amazement he saw Fred worshipping, amazement because he thought Fred was back in Kajo Keji. The chances of Jonathan meeting Fred in that arena were very slight – it is so huge !!!
Anyway, Jonathan had been put in touch with John and Cathie Rutter who are preparing to go out to live in Kajo Keji as short term missionaries with Church Mission Society and will be there for 2 years. They leave in February 2017 but are feeling very anxious.
Jonathan had told Fred come to the Leaders lounge so we did that at coffee time. Fred then had the chance to met John and Cathie and was able to encourage and reassure them about going out to Kajo Keji.
How about that for an amazing “God – incidence” set up to encourage us all especially John and Cathie !!
