BROAD CHALKE OPEN GARDENS
As part of our Self-Reliance and Resilience Livelihood programme, CRESS Africa Foundation (CAF) has distributed seedlings and watering cans to 65 people living with disabilities across Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement, Imvepi Refugee Settlement, and Kerwa/Wandi sub-counties host communities. This intervention aims to strengthen household resilience, improve nutrition, promote environmental conservation, and enhance long-term livelihoods among vulnerable refugee and host community households.
A total of 65 beneficiaries were given assorted fruit tree seedlings including grafted mangoes, oranges, soursop, and avocados, alongside one watering can per beneficiary to support proper maintenance and survival of the seedlings. CAF also taught them environmental conservation and climate-smart agriculture practices to support their efforts going forward.
