From Flight to Hope — Joselin’s Story

For the next few Fridays, we'll be taking time to spotlight our Community Processing Facilitators (CPFs). They run our agricultural and savings groups, supporting thousands of people as they change their lives. We hope you enjoy getting to know these key members of the CRESS team!
My name is Julias Nyerere, lead Community Processing Facilitator (CPF) Rhino camp project area, a refugee from South Sudan feeling excited about CRESS Africa Foundation (CAF) and working with community of vulnerable people in the camp.
CAF/CRESS UK has a great impact on my life and family at large where I realised hope and recovery through the involvement in the project and employment opportunity. Personally, CAF has empowered me with knowledge and skills on agriculture-vegetable production training, financial management, and businesses planning and entrepreneurial skills which enables me provide basic needs to my family, and acquire some assets.
Working with CAF has been a meaningful and life-changing experience for me. Serving as a CPF has given me the opportunity to support vulnerable households in improving their livelihoods, building resilience, and working toward self-reliance. This work has had a positive impact on both my personal life and my family. It has helped me develop important skills in community engagement, communication, leadership, and project support. I have also grown in confidence and gained more knowledge that enables me to better serve my community and support my household in practical ways.
One of the most memorable aspects of my experience has been seeing real change in the lives of beneficiaries. Watching families start small businesses, improve their incomes, strengthen relationships, and regain hope has been very inspiring. These success stories continue to motivate me in my work and remind me of the importance of community support and teamwork. Overall, my journey with CRESS has been rewarding, and I remain committed to continuing to serve and contribute to positive change in my community
