In April, CRESS delivered almost 13,500kg of seeds to farmers and savings groups in Northern Uganda. Input of dietary staples is of utmost importance as aid organisations move to support people elsewhere.
CRESS distributed cassava cuttings, and maize, tomato, onion, kale, and watermelon seeds.
This initiative supports 299 independent farmers and 28 Community Savings and Credit Groups (CSCGs). This targeted support aligned with the pillars of climate-smart, nutrition based agriculture and economic empowerment, continues to build a strong foundation for improved food security, increased household asset wealth, and long-term self reliance among vulnerable people, particularly women and youth.
