Edward Mika supervising the vitamin delivery programme last week
Edward Mika, Head of CRESS Clinic and health outreach work sent us this brief report as he began a new delivery programme last week. Vitamin delivery for children under 5 years and all the pregnant mothers in the refugee settlements.
- So far, 14,500 children have been vaccinated against childhood illnesses that could lead to blindness caused by Vitamin A deficiency and anaemia caused by worm infestations.
- Also, 3,500 Pregnant mothers are safe from pregnancy complications related to malnutrition and lack of micronutrients, this results in a reduction in both maternal and prenatal deaths in the refugee settlements, as pregnant mothers are strong enough to carry their babies until birth and babies are born strong.
