Protecting her family through knowledge and nets

32 year old Christine is the Security Officer for Ojata Savings and Credit Group. Christine has two children and another on the way at the end of the first year of the programme.

She struggled with malaria during her previous pregnancies, a change which she attributes to the mosquito net and the malaria-prevention education from CRESS Africa Foundation medical staff.

‘The mosquito net and the health talks with other mothers kept me and my baby safe. I have not had malaria since I become pregnant. Our group has changed how we look after our homes. I now dry my utensils in the sun to reduce germs. At the health education sessions I can ask everything I need to know. At the clinic the health workers are often too rushed.’
