School visits
Community Savings and Credit Groups (CSCGs) have been participating in practical training sessions on nursery bed preparation and management. 84 lead farmers took part in this training, with women and young people (18-30) making up 70% of the group. They left the session equipped to put their knowledge into practice, and to share their new skills with other members of their community.
The main objectives of the training sessions were to:
- Equip lead farmers with hands-on skills in nursery bed preparation and management.
- To enhance the knowledge of lead farmers on soil selection, and site suitability.
- To promote good agronomic practices for quality seedling production.
- Encourage peer-to-peer learning among farmers, promoting sustainability.
