We have been running an emergency healthcare response in Rhino 8 since October, a big task for our small team. The clinic responsibility has now been taken by another NGO giving our team a chance to start a new project.
Our healthcare team will now be getting out into more refugee settlements delivering preventive community health training and advice.
It will focus on:
- maternal, child, and adolescent health
- nutrition
- mental health (through the CATT model)
- menstrual health and dignity
- and community-based disease prevention.
As part of this they be delivering mosquito nets to families. Malaria is still one of the major causes of illness in the region. They will also distribute mama kits to those who are pregnant.
