An 8 hour day and 2 visits
Fred’s trip to the seaside
We were up early to eat breakfast before Patrick Athurie arrived to drive myself, Joseph, Emmanuel and Golda to Entebbe. He knows the roads so well and took the back roads out of Kampala. It suddenly felt really good to be driving along on a bright sunny African morning and we got to Entebbe in 55 minutes – it can take 2 hours!
We went straight to the Airport Guesthouse to pick up Bishop Anthony and then on to the airport to meet Adrian Burholt. I stopped off at the Protea Hotel which the BA staff used to stay at, which is a wonderful hotel but not really for us as far too expensive.
Back to Lake Victoria Hotel
Where we settled down on a table ordered coffee and biscuits and got down to work. We took a break at lunchtime before carrying on until 3.30pm covering many topics and it was most useful, especially to have Bishop Anthony join us. The Bishop left us for the airport and was seen off by his three fellow South Sudanese. Adrian and myself rather more rudely selecting to get into our costumes and swim!!
Another busy day comes to an end
We later enjoyed dinner at Faze 3 which Renee Crane the Baptist Missionary introduced me to and is my favourite restaurant.
Fred Taban’s wife and son Sunday join us for lunch tomorrow
