Fred Taban has been working at Sarum College and receiving medical treatment.
Kind members of Wellspring have paid for Fred to have vaccinations for Hepatitis A and B , Typhoid, Cholera and Yellow Fever. For most British people this would be done with some resignation and complaint but for Fred, it was a real joy. These life-saving vaccinations will mean the diseases cannot kill or seriously harm him when he is back home.
This week Fred has an appointment at New Hall again donated by kind friends – he will have an MRI scan on his ankle to measure bone disease before any further action is taken.
On Friday he has an appointment at Salisbury Total Footcare to see if an orthotic will help relieve his pain. For any South Sudanese, this access to medical treatment is almost unknown.
Fred has also visited the Roman Baths in Bath and several Oxford Colleges last weekend with Open Doors at Oxford – many colleges were accessible that are not normally open.
