Big Give begins tomorrow!
Only one week to go until our Big Give Christmas Challenge begins!
We are fundraising for our Livelihood Project which aims to achieve sustainable income generation, poverty reduction & socio-economic transformation. Part of this includes training savings groups members in Sustainable Climate Smart Agriculture.
Earlier this year, our Community Based Facilitators (CBFs) took part in training focused on climate resilient agricultural approaches, especially important for rural communities in areas that are disproportionately affected by climate change.
Climate resilience in agriculture is the ability of communities and farmers to adapt to climate change while maintaining or improving productivity. The training not only provided new information but also built on the existing skills/indigenous knowledge of the participants.
Using funds raised during the Christmas Challenge, our savings groups members will also take part in this training. Increasing their resilience to climate change is key to building secure, independent futures.
