Recent success stories from our Mijale, Imvepi and Rhino savings groups.
Uba Betty is from Mijale Hope Savings and Loans group. She is 50 years-old with 10 family members to support. She sells food items, such as tomatoes, maize, rice, beans, onions, etc. She makes of profit of 60,000 UGX (~£13) per month towards her family's wellbeing.
Emmanuel Savings group has 30 members. Together, they have bought a grain mill to produce and sell flour. Luke Levis (pictured) operates the machine bringing in up to 100,000 UGX (~£20) per week for the group. They also have another group business renting chairs out for group meetings, celebrations, or church congregations. They have 200 chairs to rent, giving them an income of 300,000 UGX (~£60) per month.
Kiden Annet of 'God With Us' Saving group is 20 years old. She supports family of 3. Annet joined the savings group 2 years ago; she saved 450,000 (~£100), enough to buy a sewing machine and start a tailoring business. Now she is regularly saving and growing her business.
Keji Betty is part of United Savings group. She is 39 years and supports a family of 10. Since joining the group 2 years ago, Betty has saved enough money to purchase a cow, with plans to buy more.
Dude Editor, from Sadia savings and loans group. She is 62 years old with a family of 7 to support. She has taken out a loan which she has used to buy some piglets. While they grow, she can sell pig manure to local growers. Once mature, she can produce and sell their meat.
Yeri Esther is part of Morjita mixed savings and loans group. She is 43 years old with a family of 9. She has just finished her 5th savings cycle with Morjita group. Esther is going to use these savings to build a house for her and her family. Here she is with some of the iron she has purchased for the frame.
