Kiden Jackline from Happy Savings and Loans group is 28 years old with 7 family members. Through the Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA), she bought a sewing machine at 500000 UGX. She learned now makes clothing for women and children.
Jackline makes 25000 UGX per week, and she is happy and proud of her business. She says she is now strong. She thanks CRESS UK for supporting women in creating their own businesses and income.
Juru Perasi from Faith Mixed Savings and Loans Group A is 34 years old with 7 family members to support. She joined the group in 2022, and she borrowed 80,000 UGX to establish a small shop. Selling groceries, including cold and frozen items, she earns 50,000 UGX per week.
Because of her business, Perasi is able to send her family to school, and provide them with greater opportunities.
Duro Betty from Morjita Mixed Savings and Loans Group B is 28 years old with 2 family members.
Betty sells various products including vegetables (pictured). She borrowed 150000 UGX, she makes 60,000 UGX per month. She is able to support her family buying healthy food, and she can pay for her children to go to school.
Teku Josephine of God's Gift Savings and Loans Group is 20 years old. She supports a family of 3.
Josephine joined the group 3 years ago to borrow money for a computer course. She is very grateful to CRESS UK for the support.
Ita Scovia of Somoca Savings and Loans Group is 20 years old; she supports family of 3. she joined the group 1 year ago. With the financial tools she learned, she succeeded in saving 450,000 UGX. Ita Scovia used her savings to buy a sewing machine and set up a tailoring business.
She is happy because she can now save regularly and support her family.
