We have hit our Big Give Target!
UK Team arrive in Uganda
Thanks to our generous supporters we are so pleased to announce that we have raised
£16,343.75
for the CRESS Livelihood Project
This is a message from Soro Isaac, Director of CRESS Africa Foundation.
"I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Big Give and the generous donors who contributed to this years Christmas Challenge... with this support we hope to provide training and resources to vulnerable refugee families... [and] expand our outreach to new families, helping more people to build sustainable livelihoods and move towards self-reliance... Your support is more than financial. It's really a message of hope and solidarity with the communities we serve."
The funds raised over the Big Give Christmas Challenge will provide training like the 'Financial Literacy & Mindset Change' training, which our Community Based Facilitators (CBFs) took part in last month.
The training was designed by CRESS Africa's Livelihood Project to provide the members of the Community Savings & Credit Groups (CGSGs) and community with basic investing, earning, budgeting, spending, savings and borrowing, and protection skills. It will make our group members informed and empowered financial decision makers, able to set financial goals and reach them, choose the right investment options and use loans for investment to achieve sustainable socio-economic development.
The training will also promote positive attitude towards setting family financial goals, investing money, taking risks, preparing monthly household budgets, cautious spending, savings, borrowing for sound reasons and tapping in to the available opportunities for income generation and wealth creation.
Thank you for your generous support which makes all of this work possible
