In the dusty outskirts of Mijale host community in Yumbe District, a quiet success story is unfolding — one egg at a time.
Meet Peresi Juru, a member of Sadia Savings Group, supported by CRESS Africa Foundation. With vision and determination, Peresi used her savings from the Community Savings and Credit Group (CSCG) to start a layer poultry business, she bought 30-layer birds.
Today, her hens are laying eggs and she’s selling them in the local market — earning income that feeds her children and pays for medicine and other livelihood needs.
“It’s not just about the money — it’s about dignity and the ability to stand on my own,” says Peresi.
Her dream? To grow her business and empower other women in her community.
Through CSCGs, refugees and Host community members like Peresi are transforming their lives with resilience, savings, and hope.
