CRESS Interview with Assistant Settlement Commander – Imvepi Refugee Settlement

Trip Health and Livelihood in Rhino Camp
This year, we are taking part in the Big Give Christmas Campaign to raise money for primary healthcare initiatives in remote northern Uganda with a team of local professionals.
Preventative healthcare is the first step in improving community health, sanitation, and overall wellness. As part of this, CRESS Africa have been running three-day screenings; they have visited 8 different communities so far. The turnout has been massive, reflecting high community need.
The project targets malnourished expectant and lactating mothers, mothers with children under two years, mothers with children aged two to five years suffering malnutrition or medical complications, and teenage mothers at risk. CAF staff and volunteers also conducted home visits to assess feeding practices and sanitation conditions.
Preventative and primary healthcare providers face huge challenges in providing quality care to patients and communities. There are rising malnutrition cases among children under five and lactating mothers; most communities are hard to reach, especially with all of the supplies needed.
Your donations between 2nd-9th December will help us to successfully provide primary healthcare with the correct staff, equipment and medicine, ensuring the refugee population's better health so they can look after themselves and their families.
