Caroline arrives safely in Entebbe
Off to Kampala
I managed to sleep last night which was wonderful after nothing the previous night when flying!
My ‘office’ today
Is by the pool where the internet is very good and I can read Joseph and Golda’s reports and budgets before we meet. I tried to phone them as they should be in Kampala but the old number I had for Joseph would not work and Golda did not pick up – hey whats new?
After a delicious lunch of avocado and fried prawns Patrick the driver is taking me to Kampala and into the heat and poor internet. Entebbe has become a big UN base so hotels like Lake Vic Hotel are more efficient and had to increase their internet capacity.
Tomorrow is a busy day
I shall be travelling to Mukono, which takes 1.5 hours plus from Kampala depending on traffic and no air conditioning in the car. I am going to see the family of Elly who has recently started working for Bishop Anthony in Kajo Keji – his wife and children still live in Uganda. We are supporting one of his children through education and will try to support his wife in business. I may also meet the Bahati family, CRESS has been supporting their daughter Mercy through school.
So there may be limited internet until we come back here on Saturday when the pool will be very busy being enjoyed by the expat families here in Entebbe, as well as wealthy Ugandans who come for the weekend from Kampala to Entebbe for some R and R.
