Sometimes it’s the little things
Golda Poni meets President Obama
Ever since the team got back from the summer trip it’s been a whirlwind of reports and feedback as we seek to spread the news of CRESS and build our support base.
Charity Gala Evening
Our big fund raiser at Salisbury Cathedral Refectory provided around £3,500 after all costs were paid. A wonderful evening was enjoyed by 100 people who packed into Salisbury Cathedral Restaurant and enjoyed an evening of food and music by the Fisher Ensemble.
Quiz Night
We’re excited about the next upcoming event on Wednesday 9th November at The Dynamo restaurant in Putney when several teams of young people will participate in a Quiz night, followed by a talk by our own Ellen Burholt – a member of the summer trip team. This event is old out!!
Spreading the Word
Meanwhile, Andrew Robertson has been busy speaking at church events in Salisbury, St Austell and Trowbridge, as well as smaller events such as a Harvest Supper for some elderly people in Salisbury, and smaller meetings of current and new supporters in Broad Chalke and Salisbury. He also gave a radio interview which you can listen to [here].
Successful Grant Application
We’ve just heard that we were successful with a grant application from the Ashworth Trust who have given us £3000 to be spent over 3 years on drugs and medical equipment for which we are very grateful.
It’s hard going but so worth it to see the faces of those who benefit and appreciate our help so much. Thank you to everyone who supported the Gala Event and all the fund raising activities of our organisation.
