Mechanic Training and more planned for 2019
Vocational Training for South Sudanese Refugees
CRESS is planning to provide mechanic training to South Sudanese refugees in the Dioceses of Liwolo and Kajo Keji in 2019.
CRESS aims for the mechanic training project are twofold. Firstly, they form part of the educational sponsorship programme to provide vocational training courses to the South Sudanese refugees and secondly, to improve the reliability and safety of CRESS vehicles.
Working with the Diocese of Liwolo, CRESS will provide the building and resources for a vehicle repair and maintenance workshop. The workshop will initially be used to service, maintain and repair CRESS vehicles, but potentially will also be developed into an income generating service, taking on the maintenance and repair for other local vehicles. School leavers from the refugee communities will then be selected and funded to undertake apprenticeships in motor vehicle maintenance, or on the job training.
