Reporting back to the Chalke Valley
Christopher Lamb meets Pope Francis
Today I headed up to the Big Smoke – London – for a second evening at the GBK restaurant in Tower Hill. These restaurants are run by Alastair my younger brother and he kindly provides us the use of one, offering a great opportunity for raising the charities profile, enjoy great food and of course a little fundraising.
Ticket price is just £25 and everyone gets a two drinks and burger and fries – they are delicious! I arrived to find some 50 colleagues of Adrian Burholt’s and of course Fred Taban already there! We enjoy great burgers together before Adrian presents his PowerPoint talk and everyone seems very impressed by the results we have achieved
A total of £1,400 is raised and 3 bicycles are funded, which is wonderful and will hopefully pay for the Liwolo Clinic to be tiled and the bicycles will be used by the clinic staff.
It was a special night for me as I was able to meet the Kates who sponsor half of TItus Aba’s school fees. TItus is 9 years old and in January goes to full time boarding at Triple P school in Mukono Uganda. His brothers Manase and Samson are already there and interestingly both are top of their classes. Thank you to everyone who joined us and for your support.
