Caroline had time to write a longer email last night about their day:
"We started slightly later today at 1045 for a visit to the DOL/CRESS office – the team had hired a makeshift marquee and chairs for their Sunday service. The children were in their Sunday best and several women were in their Mother’s Union white uniform everyone looked so smart. There followed a 2-hour service of Communion following the exact words of the Anglican service – they had their Bari books and we had the English version. Andrew preached and we sat and listened.
After the service, it was the CRESS sponsorship celebration. There were just 20 children there who were able to come along. All the rest of the 65 sponsored children are in boarding schools in Kampala
With Scopas. Murye we took photos of each of the 20 and asked how they were doing.
There were three older boys whose parents could not top up the CRESS fees so they go to a poor school and are not going to get good A levels, yet they are very bright. We hope to move them to a boarding school in Kampala where they can work at night with lights and get better teaching – some of the teaching in Uganda is very poor."
If you or anyone you know might like to help them please do let us know.
