Part 4: History of CRESS Clinic
Setting up Christ Love Clinic
In January 2012, the small South Sudanese team began work towards opening a health care facility themselves. At that time, CRESS did not plan to have a medical branch, however Caroline gave £40 in order to aid their mission. With this initial donation, the team made huge progress; they rented a tiny 2-roomed wooden building, and with reinvested profits began to purchase medicine that they could sell at minimum cost. Miraculously, they were also aided in setting by medical students from Juba who happened to be visiting. These students generously offered the new clinic some of their supply of medicines.
Thus, Christ Love Clinic was created, giving the isolated community they supported better access to medicine, a dedicated clinical officer, Charles, and support from CRESS UK.
