Update report from Head of CRESS Projects in Uganda
Trip Blog News Update from Entebbe
Next Saturday 22nd September myself, Fiona Sheldon and Andrew Staley leave for Entebbe and then onto Arua and Moyo to visit the CRESS projects and South Sudanese who deliver these projects. Our trip includes:
• visiting two different refugee camps – Imvepi and Morobi
• helping the community select 15 people to be trained in Children’s trauma therapy
• Seeing the Mijale clinic and the recent school girls helped with RUMPS
• Meeting other NGOs in Arua
We were delighted to be approached by Sarah Collins, the Founder and CEO of Wonderbags www.mywonderbag.com who asked us to look into trialling these award winning, eco-friendly slow cookers, that save fuel, the environment and costs. These bags are already being employed by major NGOs in the camps, providing evidence of their significant value.
We are taking solar chargers for the community church leaders so they can keep their phones working and money to feed large groups of people in the camps.
With thanks and best wishes,
Caroline Lamb
