Olivia’s Trip – Wednesday 8th May

We have arrived safely in Moyo after a few delays having had to skip the visit to Goboro. We have had a good evening meeting with the women of DOKK and are all set for our trip tomorrow.

Chatting during the group photo with mama Noel, the mother of Noel the CRESS Savings Groups officer, whose group is called ‘Joyful’. They have the best vegetable seedlings we have seen and are in such profusion that there will be more than enough for group and home gardens.

Cecilia Poni, center, proudly presents her enourmous achievements in her own home garden. The agriculture program has always used the group gardens as demonstrations and inspiration for members’ own plots, and this is really coming to fruition in many of the groups this year. She was so grateful to CRESS that she presented me with a chicken! Shame I can’t carry it back on the plane home!
