Sept 23 News: RUMPS Training
Open Garden Thanks!
The maternity work at the clinic continues to give knowledge and support to women in Mijale, rural northern Uganda.
In the photo you can see midwife Bethy (with the laptop) and field midwife Asaba (with the record book) giving an antenatal class in the clinic.
In August 145 expectant mothers attended similar classes.
In Uganda the Ministry of Health has made ultrasound scans during pregnancy compulsory. Our scanner technician only visits this remote clinic every other week. Mostly the pregnant mothers have been referred from the government-run Kerwa Health Centre III. In Augst she scanned 46 patients, mostly mothers.
And in that same month, the team helped deliver 38 babies - sometimes with multiple births on the same day.
A huge thanks to the team for their work and dedication. Bethy here on the right and Asaba on the left.
