Last week, CRESS Africa staff took part in a 5-day training workshop as part of our Livelihood and Resilience Project in the Eden and Ocea Zones of the Rhino Camp refugee settlement.
Participants engaged in a series of intensive training modules aimed at promoting financial inclusion and sustainable livelihoods, including:
- development of clear vision roadmaps and comprehensive Community Savings and Credit Groups (CSCG) constitutions and policies
- training on savings goal setting, plan development, meeting management, and reliable record keeping
- creation of a strategic one-year implementation plan for CSCG trainers
Participants have gained invaluable skills and knowledge to drive financial empowerment and sustainable development in their communities.
"This training has helped me [to know] I will be able to change the culture of saving and transform my life and my family's life to attain a brighter future." Rofani Joyce
"I believe I will be able to change our refugee community ... [this training] is different from other training I have attended. It involves everyone in participation." Alex Woja Santino from Rhino Camp
