Leadership retreat
A sad farewell to Andrew Robertson
All money raised at the Knighton Manor Open Day will go towards the September 2017 trip to the South Sudanese Refugees living the camps in Uganda. The main focus will be to help women and young girls with menstrual health an area often overlooked. We will carry out new underwear but purchase sanitary pads and soap in Uganda.
Here is an extract from a South Sudanese leader in the camps
With Such enormous difficulty facing the refugees and IDPs, a lot of focus dwells in general priority areas such as shelter, food, water , and many others; while special categorised needs such as comfort kits for women in terms of sanitary towels are easily overlooked. The issue of poor menstrual health is a huge challenge among the young girls and women in the camps. The hardships they currently go through have made them completely unable to afford basic needs such as sanitary towels, under wear and soap; which are very crucial for their menstrual health. As a result, they have been exposed to several health infections, and barred from full participation and inclusion in the society. The participation of women in society is invaluable, and they must be helped to take their rightful places in their homes and communities.
