On this International Women’s Day, CRESS would like to join with the United Nations in celebrating under the theme 'Invest in Women: Accelerate progress' and celebrate our work empowering women in Northern Uganda.
1,259 of the 1,669 Savings Group members CRESS supported in 2024 were female. They have been taught skills to improve their food and financial security, enabling them to increase levels of empowerment and equality to become a force for change in their communities.
By September 2024 210 businesses had been set up by women. CBFs reported "women now peacefully co-exist with their husbands because of the support they are bringing to their homes through the agriculture program, [means] there are no more family
disputes."
By investing in women, we can inspire change and speed the transition towards a healthier, safer, and more equal world for all.
