CRESS matters ….
South Sudan declared level THREE emergency
Joseph Aba is in Uganda to visit his children and also to buy items for the office and clinic so for the first time we managed a Skype call. For him without a camera but as I have a Mac it is built in so he could see me. We discussed many items which was useful not least the challenges of getting medicines to the clinic before it is fully registered and also with the roads as dangerous as they are – miraculously the medicines had arrived this week and were being unpacked!
Joseph then explained that Joel Abate’s wife Jeslin had given birth to a baby girl a couple of days ago and this was the first baby delivered in the Liwolo clinic – it had been at 11.00pm and because there was solar they had light (a first in Liwolo) for the delivery. They have decided to call the little girl Caroline after me !!! I was bowled over by this choice
Then Joseph sent an email saying –“ The people of Liwolo who had been forgotten by the world and they suffered heavily, did not take your love, compassion and support and that of our dear friends in UK for granted. They esteem you deep in their hearts and your story and that of cress as whole will be told to children of children. written in hearts not on papers. My people now can access treatment and can be treated with dignity, love and care in their time of great need. My heart is humble and filled with joy. May the name of our Lord Jesus Christ be praise, honoured and glorified forever.
The safe and honourable arrival of the first Baby in a clean environment in a bright light at 11pm who is our first fruit of the test of better life for south Sudan and of people of Liwolo in particular.
The baby parents are the most blessed one that Archdeacon Joel is their spiritual father. May Caroline and all our friends and donors in UK be blessed for ever. Joseph”
