Wonderful people of South Sudan

Adrian Burholt (Chair of Trustees) and Andrew Robertson (Operations Manager), will be visiting the CRESS team in Northern Uganda in June and July this year.
Sadly, all of the CRESS operations and personnel had to relocate to Uganda from Kajo Keji in South Sudan in January when fighting between Government forces and rebels broke out. The CRESS office and clinic were forced to close, the agriculture programme was brought to an end and the people are now living in refugee camps. Since then however, CRESS has opened a new office in Arua and a clinic in Mijale so that some of the essential work can continue and all of the sponsored children are now in schools. However, there is no land available for the agriculture programme to be able to continue.
Adrian and Andrew will be meeting with the Rev. Emmanuel Murye – Bishop of Kajo Keji, Rev. Joseph Aba – Bishop of Liwolo and Head of CRESS in South Sudan, and Rev. Fred Taban – Operations Manager in South Sudan and taking essential supplies. They’ll also be visiting the office and clinic and some of the people in the refugee camps and schools, assessing the local situation and bringing hope and encouragement to the leaders. The map and itinerary below shows the route they will be taking, and they would value your thoughts and prayers as they travel, especially for protection over their safety and health.
You can follow Adrian and Andrew’s visit here where blog updates will be posted.
