CRESS Africa
Part 2: History of CRESS Clinic
Welcome to Part 1 of our new series about the history of our clinics! We want to tell you our story, from the very beginning in 2009 to 2024 and beyond, all the way from South Sudan to the Jehovah Rapha Clinic in Mijale, Northern Uganda.
In 2009, Caroline first visited Kajo Keji with Flame International. She was very moved by the plight of the people, the poor infrastructure, and particularly, the lack of education and health care provision. Caroline was inspired by the many people she met, including Bishop Anthony Poggo, the charismatic and energetic Bishop of Kajo Keji, who now works in London for the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Upon returning home, Caroline shared her vision with the local community of the Chalke Valley, and started fundraising in earnest to help the people she had met. This community continues to support CRESS UK and the people of South Sudan. Today, the charity has much to feel proud of, including supporting a Primary Health Care Clinic in rural Northern Uganda.
