CRESS Christmas Appeal 2022
Congratulations to Ivan Kenyi
We have just received a report from the CATT co-ordinator Gale Scopas.
The CATT team were hugely grateful to receive a newly purchased motorbike and protective gear for the coordination of the CATT programme. The 9 CATT Counsellors work with refugee children where the children live, and the distances between them are large, so the motorbike and fuel mean that when Gale visits the counsellors every other month he doesn't have to cycle - even more of a bonus in the rainy season.
Counsellors from various locations carried out more community awareness on PTSD/CATT with a very good attendance. mMst of the participants were children and they were very encouraged by the information shared with them.
Donors in the UK have sent money for biscuits and soaps for the CATT children. These are distributed at the community awareness events and on a one-to-one level when children come for counselling. The biscuits help the children, who often only have one meal a day, to concentrate during the sessions.
Four CATT Counsellors have received their newly purchased smart phones to enable easy communication and report sending.
The CATT Counsellors live in different areas of the bush and camp, so the phones will make organising their events and training easier and they have the ability to send their reports digitally.
