Full steam ahead for Cress!
Open Garden at Knighton Manor a huge success!
Today Caroline visited Broad Chalke School to talk with year 6 children in Jez Howell’s class. She had put together a PowerPoint picture show of children in South Sudan to show what their homes were like and then what the 50% who actually attend school in South Sudan might have .. or rather not!
There is one photograph that Caroline showed them that is so shocking as its shows children sitting out in a disused building under the hot sun with a tiny bit of blackboard. The children of year 6 were amazed to find those children that did attend school had no class furniture, no food during the day, no textbooks, no wall displays, no sports equipment. They said it made them feel privileged and very fortunate to be educated in Broad Chalke School.
