Part 7: History of CRESS Clinic
Livelihood News from CRESS Africa
CRESS is pleased to be partnering with the Binary Medical Clinic (BMC) in Koboko, about 1 hour from Arua.
There are 931,000 South Sudanese refugees in Northern Uganda; 15,000 of them live in Koboko town. They cannot go back to South Sudan as they consider it too dangerous.
The refugees have little money for medicine and healthcare so CRESS subsidises the costs of medicine.
CRESS has also funded new maternity beds and mama kits.
BMC was officially launched on the 4th of April. Caroline Lamb (founder of CRESS) visited the clinic in the same week!
They are almost fully staffed and furnished. They have organised specialised doctor consultations for patients twice a week and plan to begin outreach to rural communities in the near future.
We are very excited at this new opportunity, and look forward to all the good work Binary Medical Clinic will do as we go into the future!
