ACTI CATT Conference
Diploma Graduation
Lulu Emmanuel sent us this report from the final day of the ACTI CATT (Children’s Accelerated Trauma Therapy) conference before he heads back to Medical School today.
“The following were the MOST important activities during the closure of the conference:
- Two of the DOL/CRESS CATT counsellors (Lulu Emmanuel and Kiden Beatrice) were amongst the four CATT counsellors awarded with “Certificate of Accreditation as ACT International CATT Trainer” by Dr. Godfrey Zari Rukundo (Child and adolescent Psychiatrist, head of Department of Psychiatrist – Mbarara Referral Hospital, Senior Lecture, University of Mbarara) – meaning the two DOL/CRESS counsellors are officially allowed by ACTI to train more counsellors with CATT level 2 training. All three DOL/CRESS attendees including Rev. Gale Scopas were awarded with a Certificate of Attendance by Stella Charman.
- Stella Charman (Chair of trustees ACTI) added that the quality of data produced by the CRESS CATT counsellors in Northern Uganda has been rated the BEST worldwide. This means Uganda is the best country whole over the world 🌎 where CATT is successfully practised and she gave HUGE words of thanks to the CRESS UK team for supporting this valuable new skills!!
Therefore, in a special way, allow me to thank the administration of the Diocese of Liwolo for standing with us in achieving this victory and above all, the CEO and CRESS UK for fully and timely funding of our extra travel expenses. We can’t thank you enough!!!!!!! Not forgetting ACTI for the provision of the best accommodation and giving us our transport refund. God bless!
With love and richest blessings,
Lulu”
CRESS would like to thank Fiona Sheldon for introducing and overseeing the whole CATT programme with her professional expertise. Congratulations to Lulu, Beatrice and Gale for their enthusiasm and commitment to the CATT project and we are thrilled with their achievements.
