Working in the sunshine
Quick update from Caroline Lamb
After a great time at Lake Victoria Hotel I planned to leave at 3.00pm but had 2 jobs to do first – I forgot I was in Africa as the Hotel is not true Africa – far too efficient and safe!
Patrick picked me up so first we went to the Airport Guest House to book Bishop Anthony in for Friday night – that took a ridiculous amount of time. I also booked us in for August which was good to do in person- the huge dog whose name I have forgotten!
Then Patrick took me to the phone shop – behind the reception sit three young women who look so bored – the telly is on and it is a Christian programme they are watching with a woman describing how she had been healed; they seem far more interested in watching their telly than serving us. It then takes 45 minutes to purchase a Sim card which will fit my iPhone 5 – eventually we get success and I can send photographs via whats app and pick up emails on my phone. Patrick acts not only as a taxi driver but also as a guide for me – very useful
We go to Kampala and the traffic is surprisingly light and we get there in an hour .
CRESS South Sudan Team delighted to see me – after sorting things out in my room it is a meeting and down to business . Supper and early to bed.
Thank you for your support and prayers UK friends.
